History
Joy Dome & the Rythmn Slaves was born in Austin, Texas in 1987 and consisted of James Glenn on guitar and vocals, Drew Thomas on keyboards, and Al Wing (Joy Dome himself) on drums. They released their first CD, Face on Mars, in 1989. That same year, they released a demo CD called Anthem. They spent the next several years playing venues around Austin, including the Backroom and Steamboat Springs.
In 1996, after a brief hiatus, Lance Woodburn joined JoyDome on lead guitar and the band went back to playing the club circuit. In 1999, they released their third CD, R U Receiving Us?
In 2002, Steve Arthur joined JoyDome on bass, and the CD Out of the Darkness was released.
Glenn and Steve left JoyDome and have started a new project called Bright Shadow.
